    Camilla’s picks Diana’s ‘favourite’ fashion designer for coronation gown

    Queen Consort Camilla’s coronation dress will reportedly be stitched by Princess Diana’s favourite celebrity fashion designer.

    The 75 year old has apparently picked her long-time fashion collaborator Bruce Oldfield, 72, to make the gown for the ceremony, which will see her wear his creation when she is crowned at London’s Westminster Abbey on May 6 alongside her 74-year-old husband King Charles, who divorced Diana in 1996 before he married Camilla in 2005.

    “Camilla trusts Bruce because he has really delivered on dresses for so many important occasions recently for her.”

    The newspaper said Bruce refused to confirm or deny the report, and responded to its queries by asking: “What can I say?”

    A chance meeting with Princess Di led to Bruce’s decade-long bond and he described her as the “perfect client.”

    The brother of a London jeweller shot in an apparent carjacking or robbery attempt says he wants to see better police protection for the industry following a rash of violence involving jewelry stores in the city this year.

    Prince Edward District Women’s Institute host annual Art & Craft sale

    It has taken a while, but the Prince Edward District Women’s Institute (W.I.) was finally able to celebrate the 39th anniversary of its annual Art & Craft sale on July 28.

    Cancelled the last two years because of COVID-19 restrictions, organizers were thrilled to be able to finally stage the popular-one-day event at the grounds of the Prince Edward Community Centre.

    “In 2020 the County had closed all their facilities and last year we didn’t even attempt to stage it,” said District president and Art & Craft committee chairperson, Wilma de Wolde. “We started planning early this year and we’re all excited to finally be able to get going again. The sale is so important for us – we need the proceeds to allow us to continue supporting our community.”

    Two men plead guilty to $500K smash-and-grab robbery at jewelry store

    Two London men pleaded guilty to stealing more than $500,000 worth of merchandise during a 2019 smash-and-grab at a west London jewelry store.

    Two London men pleaded guilty to stealing more than $500,000 worth of merchandise during a 2019 smash-and-grab at a west London jewelry store.

    Troy Wolfe, 34, and Matthew Simpson, 37, each pleaded guilty Monday to one charge of robbery in the March 19, 2019, armed robbery of Gordons Gold Jewellers.

    A third accused, 32-year-old Nevin McCrea, didn’t attend the trial and the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
