    fendi: Milan Fashion Week: Fashion giant Fendi grabs eyeballs with sharp, masculine suits at womenswear fashion show
    Milan kicked off its leg of the month-long catwalk calendar on Wednesday, with Italian luxury label Fendi deconstructing masculine tailoring at its womenswear fashion show.

    Milan Fashion Week follows New York and London events in which designers have been presenting their creations for autumn/winter 2023-2024.

    At Fendi, designer Kim Jones added pleated skirt aprons and trains to tailored trouser suits as well as shoulder-baring sleeves to waistcoats.

    There were also boiler suits with skirts, slashed knits with halter necks, draped and ribbed dresses, as well as Mac coats adorned with sparkling sequin lining.

    In show notes, he said he was inspired by the way jewellery designer Delfina Delettrez Fendi wore her family label’s archive items. Jones works alongside Delettrez’s mother and the founding family’s scion, Silvia Venturini Fendi, who looks after menswear and accessories, at the Rome-based label.

    UGA student runs online fashion boutique Katie Bop | Arts & Culture

    Kate Walsh, an intended finance major, is not a normal sophomore at the University of Georgia. Since July 2021, she has run an online boutique called Katie Bop that sells tops, skirts, jewelry, shoes and more for any occasion. The clothes are funky, colorful and sparkly, meant for more than just an everyday outfit.

    The products tailor well to high school girls and young adults alike, but according to Walsh, her target market is college students. This market was exactly what helped Katie Bop grow as a small business.

    “Being in college, I am surrounded by my target market 24/7,” Walsh said.

    This, combined with growth on social media, made Katie Bop gain popularity in only a few short years. The business is even gaining customers from other universities such as the University of Alabama, Clemson University and Auburn University.

    Friday, February 24, 2023 – Samuel Brinton, a former Biden administration senior Department of Energy official, has been accused of luggage theft by a Tanzanian fashion designer.

    Brinton is facing charges for alleged airport baggage theft following reports that he is in the habit of stealing women’s luggage at airports to take their clothes, which he proceeds to wear to public events.

    Brinton, who is non-binary, was released from a Minnesota facility Wednesday, Feb. 22, without bail.

    After Fox News reported about Brinton’s luggage charge, Asya Khamsin, a Tanzanian fashion designer, searched for him and saw Brinton wearing the custom-made clothes that she had reported missing from a Washington, DC, airport in 2018.

    HOUSTON – A fashion designer in Houston is now coming forward with accusations claiming clothing worn by former Department of Energy (DOE) official Sam Brinton had been in her luggage reported missing from Washington, D.C. in 2018.

    “When I googled him, I saw my outfits on him,” said Asya Khamsin.

    Fendi designer pays tribute to female-led fashion powerhouse | Milan fashion week

    Male designers and their supersized egos have dictated what women wear for most of the past century. But it is the female side of the Fendi family who have been in the driving seat throughout the 98-year-old history of their Italian luxury house, and the British designer Kim Jones is smart enough to realise that Fendi is not about him.

    “Fendi is a female-led, multigenerational house, and that is what I love about it,” said Jones backstage before the catwalk show, which opened Milan fashion week on Wednesday.

    Silvia Venturini Fendi, whose grandparents Adele and Eduardo founded the house, now designs menswear and accessories; her daughter Delfina does the jewellery. “So with Silvia, Silvia’s mother, Delfina, and Delfina’s daughter, who is nearly 16, I have the point of view of many women.”

    JEWELLERY brand Tomei is celebrating 55 years of growth with a jewellery showcase at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s centre court until tomorrow.
