3.Paradis Will Stage Its First Runway Show During Paris Fashion Week Men’s
10 years into business, French-Canadian contemporary ready-to-wear label 3.Paradis will stage its first-ever runway show during Paris Fashion Week Men’s later this month, according to paradis-emeric-tchatchoua-first-ever-runway-show-paris-mens-week-1235680155/”>WWD.
The brand, led by creative director Emeric Tchatchoua, will take over Square des Périchaux, a public garden in Paris’ 15th arrondissement, on June 23. There, the designer will present a Spring 2024 collection, titled “Journey of Dreams,” built on celebrating “the process of living our dreams,” per the outlet.
Born in 1988, Tchatchoua grew up in the aforementioned working-class neighborhood, so it was “deeply important” for him to showcase his upcoming dream-inspired line in the same location that he first began to envision his life as a designer. While growing up in Paris in the early 2000s, he became infatuated with Japanese fashion through online research. That, coupled with his French roots, his love for pop art and his African heritage, heavily influenced his current approach to design.
After graduating from Montreal’s ESMM Fashion School, Tchatchoua founded 3.Paradis in 2013. The label, which launched exclusively with menswear, gained prominence for its finely-crafted silhouettes and unique, collage-like designs. Just five years following its establishment, 3.Paradis was named a semifinalist for the LVHM Prize for Young Designers in 2018.
In the spring of last year, the label expanded its scope to include more genderless fashion, as part of its move to “slowly integrate women into [its] narrative and into [its] imagery,” per WWD. For the brand’s forthcoming Spring 2024 show, Tchatchoua hopes to remind people “that the journey itself is the dream; all the sacrifices and passion that has gone into bringing the vision and message of 3.Paradis to life is a result of it.”
